The Regional Whip’s office acknowledges and commends the work done by the Petition Committee in the City of Johannesburg, to request all street humps to be closed.
Regional D, which includes all the wards in Soweto, worked hard in resolving to push the DA-led coalition to attend to the public’s request. The whip office Councillor of Regional D, Sechaba Khumalo said this was done to ensure that through its intervention, community of Regional D receives much needed service delivery.
“We managed to push the committee even under difficult circumstances to make sure that City’s road department resolves the community request”, he said.
Khumalo added that it is a clear demonstration that the people shall govern. He said this is peoples’ power in action as they were marking Human Rights’ Month.
“This indicates that ANC is committed to serve people and through concerted efforts, anything can be achieved. For that, we thank the Petitions’ Committee for its effort”, he said.
