The Mapressa Glam and Fashion Show will return to Midrand on 6 June 2026, bringing together fashion, music, and cultural performances from across Southern Africa in what organisers describe as a growing platform for talent and social impact.
Held at the Midrand Conference Centre, the event will open with a red carpet at 14:00, followed by a programme featuring performances, runway showcases, and a closing after-party. According to event curator Promise Sibanda, the show continues to position itself as more than entertainment.
“Indulge in the ultimate spectacle of Southern African glamour. This is not just an event, it is a movement redefining beauty, unity and opportunity,” he said in a statement describing the show’s vision. The event features a mix of established and emerging performers, including Sbu from Uzalo, Fab G (Imali yeSgeja), Njabulo Langa, Zinjaziyamluma, MC Samantha, and DJ Mapressa.
The judging panel brings together regional representation from Southern Africa. It includes Bokamoso Xavier, Rose M, and Lady N. Organisers say judges, guests, and entertainers will participate in the programme in non-competitive roles, contributing to both evaluation and audience engagement. The show is structured into multiple stages, including a VIP segment where company executives, directors, sponsors, and partners will be hosted for networking over lunch before joining the main programme.
The runway segment will feature models from across Southern Africa showcasing designs from emerging and established designers, with semi-finalists crowned by sponsoring companies. The winners of Mr and Miss Mapressa Glam will also be announced during the event. “This is a platform for companies to captivate audiences, sell their products and forge lasting partnerships,” organisers said, describing the runway as both a creative and commercial space.
Since its inception, the Mapressa Glam and Fashion Show has grown into a cross-border platform involving South Africa and Zimbabwe, with organisers highlighting its focus on inclusion and access for rural and emerging designers. The platform also promotes community outreach, with past initiatives including donations of school shoes and sanitary products to underserved communities.
On expansion plans, organisers indicated interest in widening participation beyond current participating countries, with Botswana already represented in the judging panel.
The evening will conclude with an after-party featuring continuous entertainment and performances, extending the event’s focus on music and celebration beyond the runway.
Organisers describe the show as a space where fashion, culture, and opportunity intersect, with increasing attendance and sponsorship support over recent editions
