A 31-year-old woman from Springs, Ekurhuleni has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend to death by knife. The suspected murder was arrested by Kwa Thema police on Wednesday afternoon. It is alleged that a 35-year-old man was chased and stabbed when he tried to flee by woman believed to be her boyfriend.
The police spokesperson Constable Media Khoza told Gauteng Newspaper that the witness was outside his home when he saw the victim being chased. Khoza said that the decease succumbed from knife injuries.
“A witness alleged he was outside his home as he prepared to close his gate when he saw the victim running toward his direction. He noticed he was being chased by his girlfriend, the victim suddenly fell on the ground, as the witness rushed to help, he realized the victim was stabbed and the girlfriend had a knife and blood on her.” said Khoza.
Police were called to the scene and found that the victim died. Meanwhile the girlfriend allegedly tried to escape, but was arrested. The police further condemned such acts of violence and called on the society to stand up in the fight against gender-based violence.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Springs Magistrate’s Court.
