JOHANNESBURG EMERGENCY SERVICES REPORT NO MAJOR INCIDENTS AMIDST HEAVY RAINFALL

The Johannesburg Emergency Services (EMS) has confirmed that no major incidents have been reported overnight and on Tuesday morning, despite the heavy rain that continues to fall across the city. Spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi assured the public that the situation is being closely monitored, with emergency response protocols activated to ensure public safety.”We are urging residents to exercise caution, especially when driving, and to avoid flooded roads and low-lying bridges,” Mulaudzi said. Residents in informal settlements are also advised to steer clear of river streams, and faith-based organizations are warned against conducting rituals near full waterways to prevent drowning incidents .


The South African Weather Service has issued Level 4 and Level 5 warnings, indicating the potential for localized flooding and hazardous driving conditions.
