Cross pavement armed robbery suspects to appear in Roodepoort Magistrates Court

four men aged between 28 and 47 that were arrested in Cosmo City, north of Johannesburg on Wednesday, 27 October 2021 and charged with armed robbery, are expected to make their first court appearance today in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court.

Hawks Principal communication Officer, Captain Ndivhuwo Carol Mulamu told the press that theunknown men allegedly approached and accosted a G4S security guard after collecting money at the butchery, whilst he was walking towards the armoured vehicle last month.

“Suspects allegedly disarmed the security guard, pointed and assaulted him with a firearm the demanded the cash box with an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the scene in a gateway vehicle,” Mulamuadds.

She added that on Wednesday, the Johannesburg based Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation team, together with Honeydew police swiftly responded to intelligence received regarding a suspected armed robbery at the same address.
