Kaizer Chiefs keeps winning run alive with 2-0 victory over TS Galaxy at FNB stadium

Kaizer Chief celebrates a 2-0 win over TS Galaxy.

Kaizer Chiefs extended their Betway Premiership winning streak to four matches with a composed 2-0 win over TS Galaxy at FNB Stadium on Sunday, 12 April 2026. Goals from Flavio Da Silva and Glody Lilepo either side of half-time settled the encounter, as Amakhosi strengthened their push for a top finish in a tight league run-in.

Da Silva opened the scoring in the 35th minute to put Chiefs ahead at the break. Lilepo then made sure of the result in the 74th minute, capping a dominant second-half display from the hosts. The match ended 2-0 after 90+6 minutes of play.Midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu was named Betway Man of the Match for his all-round display in the engine room. Ndlovu came into the game in form, having scored his second goal of the season in last Monday’s 3-1 win over Orbit College at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.Speaking ahead of the Galaxy clash, Ndlovu stressed the importance of every result at this stage of the campaign. “At this time of the season, it is so difficult to predict because everyone is playing for something. So, even a point matters now,” Ndlovu said. “We just need to thoroughly prepare very well for them and then continue with our winning streak because that’s what we need at this time and point to really finish in a high position”.

The fixture carried extra weight for Chiefs, who have historically found Galaxy a tough opponent. Attacking midfielder Asanele Velebayi admitted as much pre-match, saying the outcome would come down to desire. “I think it all comes down to who wants it the most,” Velebayi told the club’s media department. “So, I know we’re not in a bad run against them, but we always seem to be unlucky playing against them”.Sunday’s meeting was the second between the sides this season. The first ended in a goalless draw at Mbombela Stadium in December 2025, a match where Chiefs had a Flavio Silva goal incorrectly ruled offside.Chiefs went into the game unchanged in terms of injuries following the Orbit College win, with head coach Nabi making three changes. Inacio Miguel returned from suspension while Thabiso Monyane and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo were rotated out. The expected starting XI included Bruce Bvuma, Dillan Solomons, Miguel, Aden McCarthy, Bradley Cross, Lebohang Maboe, Siphesihle Ndlovu, Mduduzi Shabalala, Wandile Duba, Pule Mmodi and Glody Lilepo.

With ambitions of securing CAF Confederation Cup or CAF Champions League spots, every point carries significant weight for the Phefeni Glamour Boys. The win lifts Chiefs’ momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.
