No agreement reached between motor industry and Numsa

Numsa Spokesperson Phakamile Hlubi-Majola says no agreement has been reached between Automobile Manufacturers Employers Organisation because employers are not fully engaging with the demands made by the union and employees.

“The main issue is… we feel as if employers are not engaging meaningfully with all our demands,” said Hlubi-Majola.

She said one of the key demands is the wage demand.

However, wage negotiations between the two parties are still ongoing.

Workers demand a 20 % wage increase.

Numsa represents over 300,000 workers employed by manufacturing companies, car dealerships and petrol stations.
