Tshwane Emergency Services Department (ESD) has resumed its services as of Monday. This follows the suspension of its services due to the lack of an operating licence earlier this month.
Tshwane Emergency Services’ spokesperson Charles Mabasotold Gauteng News that the Gauteng Provincial Health Department had not approve the service’s operating licence. However, the Health Department has granted the Tshwane ESD a temporary operating licence.
“The Department of Health in Gauteng has issued a temporary operating licence that is valid until the end of January 2021. Residents may report life-threatening emergencies on our 107-toll free number from a cellular phone or landline.” said Mabaso.
Mabaso stated that the ESD is dedicated to do its mandate ofkeeping the city safe. Meanwhile the Administrator for Compliance Lebogang More welcomed the reinstatement of the ESD.
“We have been providing excellent medical and ambulance services for years with professionalism and the granting of the temporary operating licence until the end of January next year provides us with the opportunity to continue igniting excellence.” said More.
