Tshwane Mayor visits train victims

The last four months have seen four train crashes in Gauteng. In the last train crush three people died and 600 people got injured. Tshwane Mayor Solly Msimanga visited two of the threefamilies that lost their loved ones in the recent train crash,at Mountain View station, northeast of Pretoria last week.

The media reported that during the visit, families highlighted a need for assistance. The Democratic Alliance led multi party administration is expected to arrange six buses, two mobile toilets, minibus and Tshwane Metro Police escort.

“We trust that with this contribution, the funeral service will proceed smoothly and that the departed will get a dignified send off. Our heartfelt and sincere condolences to the families and those that have lost lives and wishing all those injured a speedy recovery, said Msimanga’s spokesperson SamkeloMgobozi.

According to IOL Mgobozi said that Mayor of Tshwane visited the families to convey Tshwane’s condolences and offer support with the funeral arrangements.

Tshwane resident and also train commuter SimphiweZikalala told Soweto Observer that she is happy with the mayors’ visit to the families. “I hope the families get enough support from the mayors’ office.” Said Zikalala.

“I am hoping to see different political parties coming to support the families. This is not one of the political games. The nation lost citizens in an unfortunate incident.” Concluded Zikalala.
