The Protea Glen police arrested a 21-year-old man for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm in Protea Glen extension four, Soweto. It is alleged the man, with his friend, went to visit a mutual friend and found the latter in the company of his girlfriend. The 21-year-old requested to smoke drugs but the mutual friend refused prompting his visitors to leave the house.
The two friends then returned a while later carrying a gun and pointed it at the male victim who had refused them drugs. The angry 21-year-old friend did not fire a shot but the victim immediately called the police afterwards.
The suspect was immediately traced and found in possession of an unlicensed firearm. The local police confirmed that the firearm was a shotgun with serial numbers filed off. The suspect was arrested and will be soon appearing at the Protea magistrate court. Follow Gauteng News as the story unfolds.
