Khanya Cekeshe #FeesMustFall activist might be released on parole soon as President Cyril Ramaphosa announced on Monday a remission of sentences for 1400 offenders.
The remission meant Cekeshe might be released immediately on parole, at the same time the Cekeshe family is living in hope that Khanya will be released before Christmas.
Cekeshe was sentenced to eight years imprisonment but three years were suspended. He is currently serving his sentence at Leeuwkop Correctional Services in Johannesburg.
The family hopes that Khanya will be back soon as his lawyer Wikus Steyl, from Ian Levitt Attorneys, added that the legal team is trying to meet with the parole board. Follow Gauteng News as the story unfolds.
