Sipho Shayi aka Monochrome just brought in a new sensational feeling into the world of amapiano as he is about to release a new EP titled ‘Uprising Melody’s’.
The 23 year old from Villa liza has recorded 10 tracks, which includes a bonus of 3 songs.
The EP contains of hit tracks such as, Shanda Pa, Corona, Katalina, Iwashe and Liyasho, which are set to be released in December
The inspiration behind the tracks was his love for Amapiano music and the Corona virus pandemic as one of his hit tracks titled Corona.
“During the lockdown period, I put in the work and recorded the tracks, which turned out to be hits,” said Shayi.
Besides venturing into Amapiano Shayi is an entrepreneur and a business administration student at a skills development centre.
The young artist draws his inspiration from the likes of DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small, Kwesta, MFR Souls, DJ Sbu, Casper Nyovest, Buhle, Nokwazi and Kamo Mphela.
“I would like to work with these artists in future as they have inspired me into my venture of becoming an Amapiano artist,” he said,
Shayi shows gratitude to everyone who has supported him in his venture of becoming an Amapiano artist and advices those that want to venture on the same path as him to be disciplined and focused.
“First thing you need to do when you venture on this music industry /amapiano wave is that you need to be disciplined and focused,” Monochrome said.
“Besides that you have to be smart and must be able to come with new ideas so that you can be recognised and always learn to network with different people,” he added.
