A second suspect is set to appear in the Cullinan Magistrate’s Court today following his arrest in connection with the fatal shooting of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) member Monica Dube.
The Gauteng Political Killings Task Team (PKTT) arrested the 39-year-old male on Tuesday evening after an intelligence-driven investigation linked him to the June murder.
Police national spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe confirmed the arrest, saying that investigators successfully connected the suspect to the crime scene.
“The Gauteng Political Killings Task Team (PKTT) has arrested a second suspect in connection with the murder of 44-year-old Monica Dube, an Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party member,” said Brigadier Mathe.
“Following an intelligence-driven investigation, investigators positively linked another suspect, a 39-year-old male.”
The suspect faces a charge of murder.
Dube, 44, was shot and killed in front of her family members at her residence in Wallmannsthal in June 2026.
This latest operation follows the July arrest of the first suspect, Sipho Mahlangu, who remains in police custody after making multiple court appearances at the Cullinan Magistrate’s Court.
