30 illegal miners arrested in Krugersdorp

The O Kae Molao Operation is still ongoing across Gauteng. The South African Police Services have arrested more than 30 illegal miners at Krugersdorp, in the West Rand, during the crime prevention operation.

The O Kae Molao operation was conducted at Old Gold Mine. Police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubela had this to say, “four miners aged 30 to 35 were found in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition of different calibres including an R5 rifle, an R1 rifle, a shotgun and explosives.”

The crime prevention operation continues across Gauteng and community members are advised to report any crime activity. The illegal miners are expected to appear at the Krugersdorp magistrate court on Thursday.
