AMCU to hold platinum wage press briefing

The Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union are to hold press briefing in Hyatt Regency on Friday morning where they will be discussing the upcoming platinum wage demand.

In 2016, the union accepted a 12.5% wage increase after initially demanding 47%.

Jana Maris spokesperson for Anglo American platinum said they expect another though round of negotiations.

National treasure of AMCU, the biggest union in the platinum industry Jimmy Gama said that the union was finalizing its wage demands ahead of the upcoming wage talks and that they had an upper hand in the platinum belt.
