ANC in Joburg denies any involvement in the “Ramaphosa Must Fall March”

The African National Congress (ANC) in the greater Johannesburg region has denied any involvement  in a faceless poster which is making rounds on social media mobilising people to attend what is called “Ramaphosa must Fall March,”.

According to the post the march is scheduled to take place on Friday, 30 July 2021.

ANC Greater Joburg regional secretary, Dada Morero said these kinds of posters are part of the concerted efforts to disrupt the agenda of the ANC to fulfil its role to discharge its responsibility through renewing and rebuilding itself as a movement.

“These kinds of counter-revolutionary actions demonstrate desperation that seeks to defocus our efforts,” said Morero.

Morero said the ANC-led government is currently dealing with challenges emanating from the pandemic, looting, and vandalism of property of businesses meant to contribute to their efforts to reconstruct the economy.

“The ANC will observe such  actions and take necessary steps to defend the democratic gains we are working on towards a radical socio-economic transformation to defeat poverty, unemployment and inequality,” he said.

He has called on ANC members to remain disciplined and desist from participating in such protests.
