The City of Tshwane partnered with Nissan SA and Habitat for Humanity to develop low-cost housing to improve the social conditions of deserving beneficiaries. This initiative forms part of the Nissan SA’s Corporate Social Responsibility.
Earlier today, City of Tshwane’s Executive Mayor, Randall Williams joined MMC for Housing and Human Settlements councillor Mpho Mehlape-Zimu to officially hand over 24 houses to families in need in Ga-Rankuwa ext. 10.
Williams said contributing to the project the city ensured that every house has been serviced with water and electricity. “Contributing to the project the city provided serviced land has ensured that each house is connected to services such as water and electricity,” he said.
“Furthermore, the administration worked hard to ensure that this project which has faced some setbacks was concluded promptly,” Williams added. He also included that the City of Tshwane value the partnership with Nissan SA and Habitat Humanity as today 24 families have places to call home.
“We will always seek to embrace public-private partnerships that supports the work of the city,” says Williams. As he concludes, he thanked Nissan SA, Habitat Humanity and Mpho Mehlape-Zimu and her team for their hard work in ensuring that they deliver on their housing commitments.
