Load-shedding resurfaces

Load-shedding has resurfaced in Johannesburg following the recent heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding. Eskom stated that they were compelled to implement stage 4 load-shedding due to wet coal.

From Saturday lights have been shed for 4 hours or more and as the rain continues to pour load-shedding will persevere. Johannesburg was in total darkness as the streetlights were out with temperatures decreasing and reaching a freezing 18 degrees Celsius.

The rain cleared on Wednesday and the South African Weather Services mentioned that the country could enjoy a sigh of relief. Load-shedding is expected to continue until the coal supply is totally dry.
