The National Education, Health and Workers Union (NEHAWU) is convening its National Policy Conference set for 26-29 June at the Birchwood hotel in Boksburg.
NEHAWU says the conference will be attended by 380 delegates from all 9 provinces.
The conference is convened to review the Strategic Policy Framework (SPF) of the union adopted in June 1997.
NEHAWU says the policy conference will reinforce SPF considering the changing environment in society and workplace where their members shape and are shaped by these changes.
Delegates at the conference will be tasked with developing a plan for the next decade in relation to working class internationalism, the national political situation, socio economic priorities such as health, education, political economy and creating of a single public service.
The union says it will adopt its posture regarding its practical relationship with the 6th administration as led by President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Secretary General of NEHAWU Zola Sephetha says their position is very clear and they will defend every job particularly on their sector.
