Operation Okae Molao yields positive results

The South African Police Services (SAPS) arrested two male suspects recently, aged 37 and 40, for ATM card robbery, being in possession of stolen bank cards and an unlicensed firearm. The arrest occurred at corner Bree and Small streets in the Johannesburg CBD at 1pm.

Police were busy with their routine crime prevention duties when they saw two suspicious-looking males roaming around a Capitec ATM machine. Captain Xoli Mbele elaborates on the incident, “When the suspects spotted the police officers they attempted to run away but were swiftly cornered before they could make an escape.”

The officers then recovered fifteen different bank cardsand an unlicensed firearm. Johannesburg Central Station Commander Brigadier Perumal commended the officers for their vigilance which lead to a successful arrest.
