Driver burned beyond recognition at Greenfield road

A driver has been burned beyond recognition when two vehicles crashed at Greenfield road next to Sky City.

The City’s rescue and firefighting team from Palm Ridge Fire Station responded to the accident scene.

According to DEMS Spokesperson William Ntladi, the two vehicles involved in the crash were a single cab pick-up and a sedan.

“The driver of a Mercedes Benz driver lost control of his cars  as it veered off the road and landed about 100m away from the point of impact before busting into flames,” said Ntladi.

Ntladi said the driver was with a 4-year-old toddler in the car.

“The driver was with a girl toddler of about four years old. The driver burnt beyond recognition while the toddler sustained unknown burn wounds as she wasn’t found on scene of the accident, but it is alleged to have been transported privately to the hospital before the arrival of the rescuers,” he said.

He said In the bakkie (Isuzu) there was only one occupant, the driver who sustained critical injuries and was transported to Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital for further medical care.
