Sandton Police gives weekly feedback of crime incidents happened in Sandton and surrounding areas.
According to the statement, different crimes took place this week and suspects’ targets were mostly on electronic equipment.
Sandton Police Station spokesperson Granville Meyer confirmed most of these incidents took place between 4pm, 8pm and 11pm.
“Targeted areas in the suburbs are Edenburg, Gallo Manor, Khyber Rock, Rivonia, Sunninghill, Woodlands and Woodmead. Biggest crime contributions were burglaries and theft out of motor vehicles. In some areas, door and windows were forced open in areas of interest. Other area include Brecknock, Bryanston, Klevehill Park, Lonehill and Paulshof, Petervale, Rietfontein, burglary contributed to crimes incident. In order incidents, doors were forced open to gain entity”, he said.
Meyer added that main crimes committed was theft out of motor vehicle.
“This mostly occurred in Benmore Gardens, Dalecross, Dennehof, Duxberry, Hurlingham, Hurlpark, Little Fillian, Moodie Hill, Morningside, Morningside Monor, Morningside Ext 40, New Brighton, Parkmore, Sandown, Sandhurst, Strathavon and Sunset Acres. Criminals also targeted areas such as Buccleuch, Lower Gallo Manor, Eastgate, Kelvin, Kelvin View, Kramerville, Marlboro North, Wendywood and Wesco Park”, he added.
Meyer said robbery with firearm mostly happened in this mentioned areas. He added that in other incident, suspects were targeting pedestrians.
