Earlier today, Tshwane Executive Mayor Randall Williams took a weekly oversight visit programme to region 7 areas, that included Bronkhorstspruit, Ekangala and Zithobeni.
During the visit, Williams was accompanied by five MMC from a variety of portfolios so that they are able to work collectively and evaluate the quality of work being done across different departments.
Williams said that conducting these oversight visits has become an important part of their work and will assist them to identify service delivery gaps, which will enable them to better respond to the needs of their residents.
He noted, “Today, both the team and I were pleased to note that service delivery work was taking place on the ground with Tshwane teams repairing streetlights, roads works and patching of potholes.”
Williams added that he emphasized to the officials that services must be continuously delivered to benefit their residents.
“We must always strive to create a responsive administration that directly responds to the needs of our community,” he said.
As part of the oversight visit, Williams said him and his team inspected the progress being male with the construction of a sewer reticulation plant for Ekangala.
“This is one of our core projects that will play a key part in our overall Wastewater Treatment efforts in the city,” he adds.
“Through our oversight visits we aim to identify possible service delivery short falls and address them so that residents can continue to receive quality servicedelivery,” Williams concludes.
